Manaiakalani film festival

Waking up knowing that there was the manaiakalani film festival made me feel courouse ! I wasn’t worried I was just concerned about our movie, while I was getting ready I had noticed that my teacher never received my permission slip and money. When this occurred I decided to quickly ask my mum if she could write me a letter for my permission to attend the film festival.

Once I arrived at school I decided to give my permission slip to my teacher, technically I was nervous only because I thought he might say “ sorry it’s too late “ well he didn't so I had successfully  made it to the manaiakalani film festival.

The day had started off with literacy, this continuously happened until we had the film festival. We actually had literacy then morning tea. This gave us the opportunity to eat our lunch. Once our morning tea was over our buses had arrived. We had travelled from Pt England to Sylvia park. As soon as we arrived at our destination we got given instructions such as line up in  2 lines. We had walked through the entrance of the cinemas, furthermore we had seen other schools.

When our school arrived in the cinemas we had noticed there was schools, they looked prepared. Considering they came early I can relate to why they were prepared, there was a school and it was there first time attending this event and making a film for the manaiakalani film festival. There school is called ( Ruapotaka ) their movies were good since it was there first time.

I recommend all the movies were good, I just felt grateful to attend the film festival. I'm happy considering I can go online and watch them again. I haven’t watched any yet but I will eventually watch some when it’s time.

Saving

I am confident towards my learning, dedicated to all things I participate in etc. A way of gaining money is to participate in school to get a good job, How would you save ? it's good to think about what you buy and who you would give money to.  If I received money I would intend to share or save up.

Learning this week

Having the chance to get educated every Monday to Friday…

Recommending all the subjects that we take or learn, i’m more interested in reading for the fact that you learn new things such as your vocabulary, helps you towards word problems, furthermore you can get the information about the book that you receive.

While I was writing I had learnt about how to prevent yourself from getting sick, I learnt that when you are sick it would be good to make sure you are well looked after. A way to prevent yourself would be keeping inside the house and keep clean.

Wants and Needs

Having the opportunity to receive money is a great time to think about your choices, this is the meaning of how we spend money though this depends on what we think we need and want. This essay will explain the difference between what a need is, and what a want is.

What is a want?
A want can be considered something that is usually what we admire though that item is not needed, we usually look around at shops when we should be spending our money on family needs such as helping out with petrol and food.

What is a need?
A need is a necessity. This is the meaning of something that we live on such as oxygen, we all need oxygen for the fact that we are in order to breath. Something that I recommend useful towards a need is food and water, a need is something that we use on a daily basis and this is considered water as you normally get dehydrated and unfocused towards your learning, and this is the same with food.

Which is more important ?
I recommend a need is more important than a want for the fact that we are choosing the wrong choices and not thinking wisely towards the item that we intend to buy. For the fact that you can spend your money and be on a budget such as buying your clothes from the warehouse instead of nike and… it’s good to think about the choices that you are making.

On the situation that has occurred such as wants and needs, we need to be responsible and think wisely about our choices.

Debate about playtime for students

No more playtime for primary school, My debate towards playtime

Do you really think playtime is necessary, think about it.
If we spent your time doing playtime we wouldn't have to finish our work the very next day, though this is depending on the work that you are participating to. I recommend playtime is good at times... as we get time to communicate better furthermore getting the time to eat our lunch.

I understand that children like playtime, but considering they are going off to college they should be focusing on learning, further more college has no playground, I recommend this is a great chance to learn and be educated would be a great chance to just worry about school. People don’t realize until they get to college, this means once they are at college they don’t realize on what they have missed out on learning. When this happens we are rushing our work and not been able to write how we usually write, because this happens teachers say “if you don’t finish your work you have to stay in”. Here’s the reason my we rush our work, further more this happens because we are to busy talking and looking around instead of finishing off our work.

Play time is also good for the fact that you are getting the chance to embrace your talent and to be better at communicating with others, children just love playtime to have the chance to get to just relax and not learn. Playtime is also good for the fact that you get to just rest your eyes off work and worry about all the excitement that all around you, I think that children like playtime so they can just think about other things instead of just work and finish of our tasks. besides the excitement we definitely enjoy the food as we get to eat out lunch.

If you had someone say to you “do you agree or disagree”

what would it be.

Explanation writing

Topic: Why we have rules
Purpose: The meaning of what we usually do during class
Audience: People that look on my blog, and family.

Considering school had been passing by I had caught a idea of why we have rules during class, and school, for the fact that we have been having school then moving on to college it’s truly having the chance to connect with people that are around us further more you can call it socialising.

The purpose of having rules is that we have the understanding of what we are learning such as the subjects that we are contributing to, such as when we are struggling on something we often put our hands up so that it shows respect towards the people around you, continued on by, it’s a sign for help.

Often there is always somebody that likes to usually talk in class, and the rule for this is don’t talk when the teacher is talking this is also including students. The reason why we include this is because we would expect the same when we are talking, it’s good to show respect to your class and the people around you because when you are talking you would want people to listen to what you are talking unless you want to repeat what you were saying.

Lastly there is listening, for fact that we all listen, well not all the time but that is the main focus of learning.  We struggle at things, that's why we need to listen to what subject we are taking, and how to work things out. I like to try my best at things as i’m trying to improve my report as i’m trying to get high expectations to show what I have been doing at school.

wolf spiders

.All sorts of Spiders are actually not harmful than you think they are. They are really amazing if you search them up and find more information about them because, they are invertebrates which mean(animals that don't have backbones).Quite a lot of people say they are very harmful and scary because they say they are harmful because of the way that they look.

1.Wolf spiders and all other Spiders are not insects because, insects actually have six legs and two eyes just like humans. According to my research insects have heaps of eyes but their eyes are all joined into two. Spiders and insects are different because insects have three body parts, six legs and they have a antenna and many, many eyes.Spiders have  two body parts and eight legs and no antenna that’s why they are different.

2.Because spiders have eight legs they have special claws that  hook and barbed into the spiders legs, they have eight skinny legs to make it easy for them to catch their food in prey.
They start of by one single thread, that means that it makes it easy for them to catch their food. The spider makes elegant traps quit fast then you think.Did you know just because the spiders neurotoxic this means (poisonous to nerves or nerve cells)  and this mean it can make the humon get affected by its system getting nervous because of the spiders neurotoxic.

3.If you are wondering where spiders live...the better question is where don't they live because spiders manly live anywhere that is why densification  out their. You would be very lucky because if you love spiders and if that is you then you would find spiders at, very dry climates
in some countries but the only place that you won't find them is  Antarctica, because  it is too cold out their. Regions are home to some specie spiders, not because they just thrive it’s because  they can last in the climate and did you know some spiders can last without water.

4.The reason why I am starting to be interested in spiders is because I want to be different to everyone else because they like other animals, not just because of that it’s also because everyone loves other thing...and people are starting to not like spiders because of the way that they look and because they look scary but  we need to realize that they are actually not that harmful than we think they are.

scenario of weather

As It was cold, to the start of the morning this is an important issue because I had to go school and we couldn’t be late. Make it even worse our car was all covered in frost and me imagine walking to school, it  just couldn’t work in the condition of the weather. After much thought I decided to heat the car up to make the frost at least go away. I decided it is just not working, besides I still had 10 minutes left for instance time was still ticking…

As I was thinking how is this going to work? how am I gonna get to school?, am I gonna be late my mind was just constantly thinking… after all that nonsense of stress we decided to put water onto thecar for our car to get, all the frost of ice off our windows on the car.

After all stress I realized i’m gonna be late…
I look at the time and I think to myself will I make it in time?
The clock hits 8:28 I tell my mum “mum will I make it in time”

my mum was thinking should we go walk or try to work the car for the 8th time… my mum said “ come on hop in the car lets see if it works? we hoped in the car, put the keys in, turned the car on. As my heart was pumping would we make it in such a decreased weather??? as we got to the end of it I made it in exactly in time that I walked in to my class and miss clark said my name on the roll as soon as I walked in the door.

Echolocation

Echolocation is a form communication of when bats hunt and find where objects are hidden at night, bats also   communicate with other bats  phenomenal on how they use echolocation, this means that when you speak in a large area, or cave you can hear your own echo. Echolocation is a very special sound, this is a remarkable process of how they use their  ears instead of there eyes at night.

Echolocation is such an exceptional thing for animals because they wake up at night which means they sleep in the daytime and that is called nocturnal. Echolocation is when bats hunt at night for food, this also helps the bats know where to go at night, because at night when they make a higher pitched sound the sound goes in front of the bat, then they become sound waves and then hit the object then back to the. The further away the object the softer the sound.

Echolocation is when sound waves locate the object.
Other animals like whales use echolocation and the whales use water and this is a terrific transmitter  because, the sound waves travel through the water 5 times faster in water then it does in the air.

Bats rely on their ears at night because there eyes are tiny and can not really see so thats why they rely on their ears. The bats ears are quite large compared to the size of the head.
bats don't care at night because they just think

Bats communicate by when they make sound and thats how they gather up into a group
and fly together. They stay together as they are sleeping in the daytime which is  when they are in the cave.

Sound waves infomation

Sound Waves (Rdg Age 9-10?)

Sound is energy that we hear. Sounds begin with vibrations. Vibrations are caused when something moves back and forth very quickly. Vibrations travel through the air in all directions. We call these vibrations sound waves.

Our ears have three parts. Each part has a special job to help us hear sounds. The outer ear is the only part that we can see. It catches sound waves that then travel to the middle ear. The middle ear sends the sound waves to the inner ear. The inner ear changes the sound waves into signals that go to our brains. That‘s when sound is heard. Hearing happens very quickly.
Almost every animal has a body part that hears. Not all animals' ears are like ours. Birds don't have outer ears, and their middle ears are covered by feathers. Snakes only have inner ears, which are connected to their jawbones. This allows snakes to feel vibrations from the ground, where tasty food might be living.
Hearing Highs and Lows
Every sound has a pitch. The pitch of a sound is how high or how low the sound is. Study the graph. Each bar shows the lowest pitch to the highest pitch heard. The numbers are given in a measurement called hertz. Pitches over 20,000 hertz are too high for humans to hear.

Hearing

Sound Waves

1. To make a sound something must ..... *
    • a) be hit
    • b) move slowly through the air
    • c) vibrate
    • d) jump up and down
2. Explain why sound vibrations are similar to when you throw a stone into a puddle of water.
It will vibrate in the water and through on in the air,  when you chuck the stone into the air it is moving and making sound waves. Then as it is  in the water you can hear the stone drop into the water you can see and hear the movement of the stone and the water.
3. What is the purpose of the graph?
Shows  the difference between each other, and to see which of the meaning of what they are. This is the process of how they can be more stronger and witch can hear at about the meaning of sound for them, and it means if they can hear well or not.
    • to compare the pitches of what living things hear
    • To show the sounds that living things make
    • To show the pitches that living things make.
    • To compare types of living things.
4. People hear sounds in a range of about ____
    • 20 - 20 000 hertz
    • 10 - 50 000 hertz
    • 10 - 10 000 hertz
    • 20 - 20 000 hertz
5. Which of these can hear the highest pitch?
    • a) Dogs
    • b) People
    • c) Grasshoppers
    • d) Dolphins
6. Which of these can not hear the high pitched sound that people can hear?
    • a) Dogs
    • b) Grasshoppers
    • c) Dolphins
    • d) People
How does sound begin? (You also need to do some of your own research to write 2-3 sentences).
Sound Is transferred by sound waves. You can call it “sound” and what happens is, is that the sound travels through the eardrum and that is how the vibration travels to the brain. Then on it tells your brain that it has made a phenomenal sound.

What are the three parts of our ears that help us hear? The outer ear, middle ear, inner. Why are these parts so important? Each part has a special job to help us hear sound.

Sound what I can hear

              Sound: What can I hear?
Team 5’s Inquiry focus this term is about Physics and the Science of ‘Sound’.
This week you are going to write an explanation about the different types of sounds that you can hear in your environment.
Think about the sounds that surround you - at home, at school, outside.
What types of sounds can you hear? Where do they come from? Use the table to help you organise your ideas:

Home
School
Outside
Other
What types of sounds can you hear?
Each time you walk around you can hear the yelling across the class room door
e.g. phone ringing
As you breath you can feel you body moving when you inhale and exhale.

e.g. people talking?
As you go to walk away you can hear all that talking just going all around you.
e.g. children laughing
As you just leave the door you can just hear the birds chirping across the sapphire sky.
e.g. cars whizzing past
while you are having a drink in the glass cup and it just tips and you can hear all the smashes.
Which sounds do you like listening to? Why?
As you are at church just listening to all the peaceful nice things as you sit down and relax.
As the tree devolve into color from the breezy wind from up above.
While you are sitting down hearing all those thumps and jumps.
When you are just not in the mood you could just hear the sound of the car just scraping across the road.
Listening to raindrops just
as they move side to side as the wind blows across.
Why sounds are annoying? Why?
Just as you are on the street you can hear the dogs just barking
as they are hungry for food
When you are just in the mood to just sit down and watch you favourite program you can hear you mum talking to day to night.
As you can constantly hear the typing going over and over again.
while you are outside you can hear the skateboard going up and down your street.
listening to the plastic bag rattling from the cat all because it wont stop jumping on it.

Finally, think about what your world would be like if you didn’t have sound. What would it be like if you couldn't hear a single thing, or if you had to live in absolute silence? What do you think it would be like?I recommend that it would be quite boring because there's nothing to do because you can't do any think, it would be quite boring.
